Frequently asked questions

Can I really use an Ann Arbor rebate at a Clinton dealer?

Yes. The A2ZERO rebate can be used on a purchase from any licensed Michigan dealer. You must be an Ann Arbor resident and register the vehicle to your Ann Arbor address — but where you buy is up to you.

How much can I get?

Up to $7,500 for a new all-electric vehicle if your household income is at or below 120% of the area median, or up to $4,000 at the standard rate. Used EVs qualify for up to $4,000. Limit one rebate per household.

Which vehicles qualify?

Battery-electric vehicles only (no hybrids or plug-in hybrids), with at least a 10 kWh battery and a 55+ mph top speed. The Chevy Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and Bolt EV all qualify.

How do I get the money?

You apply through the City’s A2ZERO program and receive a reservation number that holds your funds (you then have 90 days to buy). After you purchase and submit your full application, the City mails you a check — typically within 6–8 weeks of approval. It’s a reimbursement from the City, not a discount we apply at the dealership.

Is there a deadline?

Yes. The program runs through September 2026 or until the funds are exhausted — and the budget is limited. We recommend reserving your rebate as soon as possible.

Eligibility requires City of Ann Arbor residency and is subject to program rules and the availability of funds, which are limited and may be exhausted before the program end date. Income-qualified ($7,500) amounts require household income at or below 120% of area median income; standard new-EV rebates are subject to the City’s published amount (confirm current figures at osi.a2gov.org/rebates). Vehicle prices shown are starting MSRPs and effective prices before tax, title, registration, and fees, and exclude other offers. Vehicle availability varies.
